On the ground floor of the Fine Arts Building you’ll find the sculpture studio, the building’s vault, where valuable works are stored, and theatre facilities, including the rehearsal studio and the theatre workshop, where set construction takes place. The stage door and the lower entrance to the theatre are also on this level.

The building has a beautiful and open design, featuring high, arched windows for studio lighting and a huge central atrium which extends up to skylights in the roof. The front of the building features sliding glass doors which lead to a balcony overlooking the city, and an exit at the rear leads to an outdoor patio. The Fine Arts Building is connected via indoor walkways to the Forest Centre and the Library and Computing Building.

A huge open atrium takes up a great portion of the second floor. The building’s modern black box style theatre, where student performances are staged, has its main entrance here. This theatre actually extends up through all four levels of the building, and has entrances on each one. Also on this level are seminar rooms, a lecture theatre, a drawing studio and a print shop, as well as the entrance to the Sir Wilfred Grenfell College Art Gallery, which exhibits amateur and professional art shows. Student and faculty art work is displayed in the building, and indeed throughout the entire campus.

Most of the faculty offices for the theatre and visual arts programs are located on the third floor. Photography and painting studios occupy a large portion of the third and fourth level, using light from the large, high windows to its full advantage. The Fine Arts General Office sits on the fourth floor. This level sports one of the most scenic views in the city - the spectacular Bay of Islands.
