As part of the process of selecting candidates to fill the positions of SI Leader and peer tutor, the Supplemental Instruction Coordinator may access students’ grades in courses targeted for Supplemental Instruction. If you are identified as a candidate, you may be contacted directly for the position. If you prefer that your grades not be accessed by the SI Coordinator, please contact the SI Coordinator in the Learning Centre or ext 5101.
SI (Supplemental Instruction) Leaders*
SI is a program whereby student leaders direct group study sessions for targeted courses. SI improves understanding of course material and helps develop good study skills and strategies for studying the course. SI leaders are students who have already successfully completed the targeted courses. They attend class again and run SI sessions based on the material from class. SI leader positions are anticipated in Math, Chemistry, Biology, Physics, French, History (incl. Art History), Economics, Nursing, and Accounting.
*SI leaders must be full-time students. These are paid positions (rate of $14.65 per hour, approx. 8 or 9 hours per week).

Applications for tutoring positions are being accepted now for all areas of study. If you are a returning student with a strong average in one of the above areas, apply now. Hours of work are flexible and can range from 4-8 hours of work per week at $14.65/hour. Tutors must be registered full-time with a 75% overall average.

Public Relations Assistant
This student will be responsible for advertising all services and activities through the Learning Centre Weekly Bulletin and the design of Learning Centre bulletin boards. This student must have excellent word processing skills. In addition this student will be responsible for the distribution of the Learning Centre Weekly Bulletin. The Public Relations Assistant must be a registered full-time student with a 60% overall average. Hours of work are flexible and can range from 6-8 hours of work per week at $10.50/hour.
