The Career Specialist will work with you on-one one, guiding you through all stages of career development:
  1. assessment of your interests, values and skills
  2. career decision-making
  3. setting your career goals
  4. developing an action plan to reach your career goals
  5. monitoring and assisting you throughout your action plan
  6. developing your skills (professional development)
  7. resume and cover letter writing
  8. interview preparation
  9. job search assistance
  10. advising on other training and education (required to reach your career goal)

SAMPLE CAREER PATH - Advertising Account Executive

LEVEL 1 Account Coordinator
EARNINGS $25,000 to $35,000 a year
REQUIREMENTS Bachelor of Business Administration
RESPONSIBILITIES Performing administrative duties; running errands; contributing to the writing of reports.

LEVEL 2 Account Executive
EARNINGS $30,000 to $50,000 a year
REQUIREMENTS 1 or 2 years of experience as an account coordinator
RESPONSIBILITIES Writing reports; dealing with clients; coordinating campaigns or specific projects; performing administrative duties.

LEVEL 3 Account Supervisor
EARNINGS $50,000 to $65,000 a year
REQUIREMENTS 3 to 5 years of experience as an account executive
RESPONSIBILITIES Developing campaign strategies; dealing with clients; supervising and training account executives and coordinators.

LEVEL 4 Account Director/Executive
EARNINGS $65,000 to $120,000 a year
REQUIREMENTS
  • 5 to 10 years of experience as an account executive and account supervisor
  • Possibly an MBA (Master of Business Administration)
RESPONSIBILITIES Overseeing strategy development; dealing with senior clients; managing the agency.
