Duncan A. Ferguson Prize in Psychology

Established in memory of Duncan A. Ferguson, PhD, the prize will be awarded to a student in his or her final year of a Bachelor of Psychology program at Sir Wilfred Grenfell College; have demonstrated strong academic performance; have contributed to the sprit of student life within the Psychology program.
Dr. Ferguson was a member of the Sir Wilfred Grenfell College faculty since September 1976. Known for his sense of humour and dedication to students, he was instrumental in the establishment of the psychology degree programs (BA, general and honours, and B.Sc., general and honours) at Sir Wilfred Grenfell College and served the college in the position of program chair for psychology for a number of years. This prize is valued at $500.00.
The Alan and Patricia Wright Psychology Conference Travel Bursary
This award was established by Dr. Sandra Wright in memory of her parents, Alan and Patricia Wright, both former educators who believed strongly in the importance of education. It will be given annually to a fourth year psychology major engaged in full-time studies at SWGC. The purpose of the award is to offset the cost of travel to a psychology conference (for example, APICS, CPA, or CCBBCS). Funds must be used for travel to and from a conference in the year it is awarded. Valued at $700, one award is available each academic year.
The Brothers and Simms of Clarica Book Prize in Psychology
This prize is awarded to the third year psychology major at SWGC with the highest average in psychology courses and is valued at $250.
