 Research

Interests encompass the following research avenues:

  • The development of detection methods for moulds (molds) in indoor buildings and building materials, analysed by solid phase microextraction (SPME)-GC/MS.
  • The development of sample preparation and extraction techniques (including needle-trap (NT), SPME, SPE and MESI) for automated derivatisation and detection of metal or organic components from aqueous solutions and sediment by GC/MS;
  • The development of SPME methods (static and time-weighted averaging (TWA)) for the selective extraction of vocs and petroleum adducts from aqueous solutions, analysed by stop-flow LC/GC-FTIR and LC-GC/MS;
  • The development and assessment of selective biomass materials for heavy metal remediation, analysed by FAAS, FTIR-ATR, SPE and Column techniques;
