 Post-Conference Tours

Following the Conference, a one-day and a four-day tour is available. These tours have been arranged by the Gros Morne Adventures company especially for participants in the Conference to include as much as possible of scientific and cultural interest.

  • All arrangements for the tours must be made directly with the tour operator.
  • This webpage is for information purposes only and reservations and additional tour information are solely available from the tour company.
  • Early booking is advisable as there are limited numbers for each tour.
  • The Conference bears no responsibility for any eventualities arising from participation in the tour program by Conference participants.
One-day Tour, 9th June
  • Depart Grenfell College 8:30am
  • Arrive Discovery Centre 10am – orientation to Gros Morne
  • Tablelands walk
  • Lunch on waterfront in Woody Point
  • Water taxi from Woody Point to Norris Point
  • Bonne Bay Marine Station tour
  • Lobster Cove Head Lighthouse
  • Return to Corner Brook

1 Day Tour - $199 plus HST (13%) Includes: knowledgeable local guide, all ground and water transportation [from Corner Brook and return], Marine Station Aquarium tour with marine interpreter, water shuttle across Bonne Bay, Parks Canada pass, and lunch.

Four-day Tour
Day 1 – Gros Morne , 9th June
  • Depart Grenfell College 8:30am
  • Arrive Discovery Centre 10am – orientation to Gros Morne
  • Tablelands walk
  • Lunch on waterfront in Woody Point
  • Water taxi from Woody Point – Norris Point
  • Bonne Bay Marine Station tour
  • Lobster Cove Head Lighthouse
  • Overnight Gros Morne
Day 2 – Port au Choix and Flower’s Cove, 10th June
  • Depart Cow Head 8:30am
  • Port au Choix National Historic Site
  • Lunch in Port au Choix
  • Flower’s Cove Thrombolite Site
  • Arrive St. Anthony, dinner and overnight
Day 3 – St. Anthony and L’Anse aux Meadows, 11th June
  • Depart Accommodations 8:30am
  • Fishing Point & Grenfell Historic Properties, lunch
  • L’Anse aux Meadows, followed by dinner
  • Overnight in St. Anthony
Day 4 – Depart St. Anthony and return to Corner Brook, 12th June
  • Enroute stop at The Arches and the trilobite site
  • Lunch in Gros Morne area
  • Arrive Deer Lake late afternoon

4 Day Tour - $1399 (or $1219 double occupancy) plus HST (13%). Includes: knowledgeable local guide, all ground and water transportation [pick up in Corner Brook, return to Deer Lake], water taxi, Marine Station Aquarium tour with marine interpreter, passes for attractions (Gros Morne National Park, Port au Choix National Historic Site, L'Anse aux Meadows National Historic Site, Grenfell Historic Properties), 3 nights' accommodation, 4 lunches, 3 breakfasts, 3 dinners.
