High School Visits
During April and May, academic advisors from Grenfell Campus will visit your high school to discuss course selection, programs and the registration process.
First Year Students Academic advising of first-year students by their instructors has been shown to help new students adapt to university studies and make a successful transition to university. Usually, each instructor of first-year classes takes the responsibility of advising a small group of students. A student's first year advisor will often be the professor of one of their first year courses.
Beyond First Year Normally a student will remain with the same advisor for the entire 1st year or until they declare a program. Once a student declares a major, the
program chair becomes their academic advisor. Studies have shown that frequent contact with faculty both in and out of the classroom is an important factor in enabling students to persist in their studies.
