Grenfell's Research Office offers other interesting opportunities that allow faculty to liaise not only with other disciplines, but also with the surrounding community. Grenfell’s Applied Research Unit, for example, acts as a single point of contact for businesses, organizations and individuals interested in utilizing the expertise, services or resources at Grenfell College. Many community and business-related projects have already been completed, such as environmental monitoring, professional development, data analysis, computer application, graphic design, public art, institutional research and survey designs.
The Newfoundland & Labrador Centre for Applied Health Research, an initiative of Memorial University, allows faculty to carry out research projects that combine academic interests with community and health-related concerns.
The Principal’s Research Fund provides assistance for faculty undertaking major research.
