Life in the Corner Brook Area

Corner Brook , the home of Sir Wilfred Grenfell College, is at the centre of the western region of the island. With a population of about 21,000, Corner Brook has all the offerings of a modern city, but the charm of a country town. With its tree-lined streets and cobblestone sidewalks, Corner Brook is a pleasant and safe place to live and work, with a relatively low cost of living. As a smaller centre, Corner Brook is inherently a warm and decent place – a place to call home.

Life in the Corner Brook Area

Corner Brook is just one of a dozen or more communities within the Bay of Islands. The culture of these communities on the north and south shores of the Bay of Islands is mostly founded in the fishing industry. With the ever-constant waters of the bay in the forefront, the Bay of Islands has it all for visitors and residents alike – scenic vistas, friendly people and a strong sense of community deeply rooted in its heritage and culture. Residents enjoy a rural lifestyle with the convenience of city life nearby. While the City of Corner Brook is the region’s main service centre, the outlying communities of the Bay of Islands each have an identity and character all their own.
