Minor in Folklore (8 courses, 24 hours)
Students completing a minor in Folklore must complete the following courses:
- FOLK 1000 (Introduction to Folklore), FOLK 2100 (Folklore Research Methods), FOLK 2300 (Newfoundland Folklore), FOLK 2401 (Folklife Studies), and FOLK 2500 (Folk Literature)
- Three more folklore courses
Focus Area in Folklore (8 courses, 24 hours)
Students choosing a Folklore focus area for the university’s Bachelor of Education (Primary/Elementary) program must complete the following courses:
- FOLK 1000 (Introduction to Folklore)
- FOLK 2100 (Folklore Research Methods), FOLK 2300 (Newfoundland Folklore), FOLK 2401 (Folklife Studies), and FOLK 2500 (Folk Literature)
- Three credit hours chosen from FOLK 3450 (Language and Play) or FOLK 3930 (Folklore and Popular Culture)
- Six additional credit hours in Folklore at the 3000 or 4000 level
