Religious Studies provides students with an opportunity to explore many aspects of human spirituality. Religion is a pervasive characteristic of human existence. It attempts to offer, in many different ways, interpretations of the nature of life and its purpose. This makes the study of religion central to our understanding of history, culture and society. The courses at Grenfell Campus are suitable for a wide range of students. Especially those who are studying for one of our Liberal Arts degrees. Some may wish to gain an understanding of the essential teachings and beliefs of one or more of the major religious traditions, while others may be planning to enter professions for which a knowledge of religious thought, practice and tradition is appropriate (e.g. social work, counseling, teaching, the helping and health professions). Many students find that what they learn in Religious Studies relates to what they are studying in other courses and to issues central to their own lives.
