Email: dklassen@swgc.mun.ca Research Interests: Dr. Klassen’s recent research examines gesture in women’s storytelling Zimbabwe and Botswana, the politics of wall mural production in Winnipeg, Manitoba, and concepts of public and private space in laundry practices in western Newfoundland. Her earlier research focused on various aspects of Mennonite identity and expression: oral Mennonite history in Mexico, the politics of Mennonite music (both church music and vernacular Low German song), and applied ethnomusicology (within an international Mennonite context). |  |
